Jonny Mitchell, head teacher at Thornhill Community Academy, which featured in Channel 4’s Educating Yorkshire, was the guest speaker at a civic dinner hosted by the Ossett Civic Trust.
The Ossett Civic Trust Awards were also made during the evening including a Lifetime Achievement Award given to Alec Metcalfe who has worked tirelessly for the town and its residents over the years. More than 140 guests were at the dinner held at Ossett War Memorial Community Centre.
