Following an unbroken attendance record since she was three years old at either The Royal International Horse Show or Horse of the Year Show, 13-year-old Emily Hawkins and seven-year-old Connemara, Kilpatrick Beech (Paddy), won their class at the prestigious and well-attended Stithians Show in Cornwall.

In a closely fought show with a particularly high-quality field of previous Hoys qualifiers, Paddy, who was only bought ‘unseen’ from a video on the internet 12 months ago, justified Emily’s enormous pressure to purchase him by romping home to qualify for Horse Of The Year Show.

He was also reserve champion of the show.

Emily recently moved to Ashton, near Wedmore, to attend Millfield School.
