The event raised an overall total of £13,000 for Cancer Research.

The Chester Grosvenor Hotel was the setting for the Enchanted Charity Ball, organised in aid of Cancer Research by 17-year-old Lucy-Jane Coulson-Hayhoe.

Lucy is a volunteer at her local Cancer Research charity shop who felt the need to do more – and thus the Enchanted Ball came about. The glamorous black tie occasion saw guests enjoy live entertainment, a raffle and two silent auctions. One item went on to be sold for £1,850, and the event raised an overall total of £13,000. Lucy was delighted with the results of her efforts. She said: ‘I’m just happy with how many people this will help.’ Her proud dad Ian Hayhoe said: ‘She has shown such drive and determination at such a young age to take on this massive undertaking.’ Another ball has been scheduled for November 24th.
