Love Supreme Jazz Festival

Brighton Kite Festival
Brighton Kite Festival is a free public event and brings some interesting shapes, sizes and colour to Stanmer Park in Brighton. This year will feature world class flyers of all forms of kites, from beautifully made miniature single line kites to some of the best team displays you will ever see.

Worthing Birdman
The Worthing International Birdman event is a competition for human-powered flying machines that take off from a special ramp constructed on Worthing Pier. There are three flying classes, so prospective entrants can decide if they wish to be a serious aviator or want to take part for fun and raise money for charity.

Wild Woodies Children’s Summer Holiday Clubs
Sussex Wildlife Trust is running a fun-packed outdoor activity programme for children throughout the summer holidays. There’s something for everyone, including bug-hunting, pond-dipping, shelter-building, crafts, camouflage games and toasting marshmallows over the campfire. Clubs are at Woods Mill Nature Reserve near Henfield; Stanmer Park, Brighton; Seven Sisters Country Park near Seaford and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

The Petworth Summer Festival
The 2014 Petworth Festival, that takes place in six venues in and around Petworth, presents a programme that features major international artists from the classical world as well as a rich array of jazz and world music performers together with a raft of ‘only in Petworth’ events.

War Stories - Voices from the First World War
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I, a major new exhibition at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery will bring to life the wartime experiences of 15 people whose personal stories reveal the impact of war.
Visitors will be able to see the war through the eyes of a young girl, born into war in 1914; young soldiers from Brighton who fought and died on the Western Front, including a Brighton and Hove Albion footballer; an Indian soldier wounded on the Front and taken to hospital in the Royal Pavilion; nurses who cared for the wounded; a young gardener who was imprisoned for his pacifist beliefs; and others.
