Donington Live was conceived when The Darley Park Concert, created by Derby Live/Derby City Council, was unable to continue. Instead of seeing the local community and beyond go without a beloved annual cultural event, Donington Park and Music Plus Sport jointly decided to find a solution and host a new concert in the picturesque Donington Park.

Implementing many of the original event’s key characteristics, the new location and partnership of Donington Park and Music Plus Sport presents the opportunity for not only an annual concert to continue for the residents of Derby, but to cater for the whole East Midlands region with Donington’s world-class event infrastructure, and the ability to bring some of the UK’s biggest classical names to the area. Including excellent parking, Donington Park is easily accessible from Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and beyond. For those travelling in from Derby, a coach service will be provided for residents with pick up points near Darley Abbey and Derby Bus Station, further details of which will be announced at a later date.

Overlooking the historic Breedon On The Hill Church, Donington Park is the perfect setting for what is planned to be a permanent fixture in the summer calendar for music lovers and those seeking a great day out with family and friends. As well as world-class musical entertainment, culminating with a magnificent finale firework display, there will be a mixture of picnics, hot cultural food and street food available to purchase to cater for all tastes and budgets.
