Exclusive charity dog walk on the Bathurst Estate

Join a host of dog lovers, on Sunday 4th October, for a charity dog walk and a unique opportunity to see one of the region’s top beauty spots, The Bathurst Estate, Cirencester Park.

By kind permission of the Earl of Bathurst, dog owners will get the chance to walk their canine companions in the stunning grounds of Cirencester Park– all to raise funds for PetSavers – an animal charity that funds vital research into diseases which affect companion animals.

PetSavers is a Gloucester based charity committed to helping vets and researchers discover cures for the diseases that cause pets suffering. The charity does not support animal experimentation. They are encouraging animal lovers and their companions to put their best paws forward to help raise money for the charity.

Dogs can only usually enter certain parts of The Bathurst Estate, however the Earl of Bathurst has kindly allowed PetSavers to invite families and their dogs to roam freely around the Estate. This is the only opportunity this year for members of the public to enjoy this area of the park with their four-legged friends.

Dog owners can choose a 3 mile or 6 mile route – both include a mixture of open grassland with great views and thick, nature-filled woodland. The routes are suited to varying levels of fitness and are pushchair and wheelchair accessible. Registration will open at 9am and the walk will officially start at 10am. Walkers can start the 3 mile route anytime between 10am -2pm and the 6 mile route anytime between 10am – 12noon.

This is a great opportunity for groups of dog lovers to socialise too as refreshments are available and there will be stalls to browse before and after the walk. Each dog also receives a free goody bag, packed with poop bags, a dog bowl and treats.

Entry is £10 per dog and all proceeds go directly to the charity. To support this great cause, walkers can visit the PetSavers website, www.petsavers.org.uk, to pay in advance by midday on Thursday 1st October. Alternatively, members of the public can turn up and pay on the day.
