Falmouth Oyster Festival organisers are extremely pleased to confirm St Michael’s Hotel and Spa is once again the headline sponsor of the 2016 festival, which takes place from 13th to 16th October.

St Michael’s Hotel & Spa will start work on a £6 million development programme at the beginning of October 2016. The planned development will further strengthen St Michael’s position as one of the leading hotels in the South West, adding 32 premium hotel bedrooms and suites, many with balconies and breath-taking sea or garden views. Both the spa and health club will double in size. The new state of the art Health Club will accommodate up to 2500 members and include a 3 story urban style’ gym, 3 studios dedicated to spinning, holistic and fitness classes, a large 17m pool, treatment rooms, plus an array of other facilities. St Michael’s popular Spa will become dedicated to treatments and relaxation with 7 new en-suite treatment rooms including a Due Rasul Mud and flotation experience room, hydrotherapy pools, new steam and sauna cabins, relaxation areas in an extended pool conservatory, spa gardens and a spa café.

At the Festival, St Michael’s Hotel and Spa will run the Oyster and Seafood Bar in the main marquee offering a range of locally sourced seafood dishes and freshly shucked oysters for visitors. At the helm will be St Michael’s Head Chef, sharing their culinary secrets and love of Cornish seafood and fresh produce at Saturday afternoon’s chef demonstration.

There are also a number of oyster inspired events at the hotel. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Falmouth Oyster Festival, from 1st – 30th October, in their award winning Flying Fish restaurant, St Michael’s is offering a Taste of the Sea’ 4-course menu extravaganza. Available from 6.30pm -9.30pm, book early to avoid disappointment.

On Sunday 16th October, the hotel will host a Sea Shanty 3 course lunch from 12.30pm – 4pm with performances from Falmouth Shout; tickets are £21.50 per person.
