On Saturday 13 September, Froxfield will host Froxfield Festival. It is the first event of its kind for Froxfield.
Held at Froxfield Recreation Ground, Froxfield Festival combines the best of a country village fete with local beer and cider, accompanied by a great programme of live music running throughout the day and evening.
Gates open from 2-10pm. Entry is free but voluntary donations are welcome to help our fundraising.
Highlights include live music, food stalls, local beer & cider, an inflatable playground, sports workshops for children from Pompey football and Froxfield cricket club. There will be something to entertain all age groups.
In the afternoon the arena will be full of activities such as a dog show and other traditional games and competitions. There will also be food stalls, local village stalls, beer & cider tent, wine bar, tea room serving homemade cakes, inflatable play zone with activities for all ages, children’s carousel, football and cricket sessions for children, rodeo ride, surf simulator and much more.
The evening programme starts from 6pm. We have a fantastic line up of bands featuring great local talent, such as Ward Thomas, The Zig Zag Band, George Taylor and more. The children of Froxfield School will also perform some songs from their school play.
Catering for all tastes, there will be a range of food available such as hog roast, paella, local burgers, and delicious home-made filled bread rolls and soup.

Froxfield Festival is a joint fundraising venture between Froxfield Primary School, Froxfield Village Hall and The Parochial Church Council of Froxfield with Privett.
Froxfield C of E Primary School became a primary school again in September 2013 following 33 years as an infant school. To provide additional space and the best resources for an increasing number of children, we plan to convert the loft space in the main building into a library and a large multi-functional space which can serve as a classroom, or be used for assemblies, art, drama or other activities.
With great pressure on local authority funding, the school hopes to raise over half the building costs and is planning activities and events throughout the year to reach the target of £75,000.
