Friday, June 29, 9.30am-3pm

Are you interested in setting up or developing an allotment or community orchard project in your community?

If so, join GRCC as they visit three of Gloucestershire’s communities (Churchdown, Bisley and Eastington) to see their food projects in action and find out how they set them up and made them grow.

Outline of the three community projects to be visited:

Churchdown Community Orchard, an established project and a joint initiative run by the Parish Council and Tewkesbury Borough Council.Bisley’s award winning Chestergate site, including long established allotments, a community composting scheme, launched in 2005 and more recent community orchard.Eastington’s Churchend Community Orchard: One of the more recent orchard projects in the county, established on the back of some very successful Apple Days, when villager’s fruit trees were harvested and turned into several hundred bottles of juice.

Transport and refreshments/lunch will be provided free of charge.

The event will finish with a ploughman’s lunch at Eastington Community Centre. Hear about the possibilities for Accelerator Project support to help you take the next steps in starting or progressing your project.

You will travel to the locations by bus which will pick up in Eastington and from Community House in Gloucester. You may join for the full day or part of it.
