A regular visitor to the Hepplestone Gallery, the 'Frogman', Tim Cotterill has become the biggest selling bronze artist in the world today with his elegant, stylised, whimsical bronze frogs and his passionate collectors span the globe.
Born in Leicester in 1950, he left school at the age of 15 and began a 6 year engineering apprenticeship before moving onto landscape design / construction and stone masonry. Intrigued with metalworking, his interest culminated in the design of welded steel animals and birds during the 1970's and led him to a new life in California.
Emigrating to Venice Beach California in 1990 he started designing his now famous bronze frogs which were well received through private commissions, exhibitions, galleries and Sotheby's world renowned auction house in London.
Now years later and proudly an American citizen, Tim resides in 'Paradise', his own funky structure in an industrial area of Venice Beach, California, USA.
Tim will be visiting the Lancashire gallery on 19th September to showcase his latest amazing sculptures and engrave any pieces purchased on the evening.
Especially for the exhibition, the award winning gallery have been given the great honour of commissioning a very special exclusive sculpture and following last years' sell out exclusive, this years' special release will be the wonderful bronze owl, Clementine. Hand finished in an incredible white patina with delicate black veining, this amazing piece will be cast in a worldwide edition of only 20.
