20 year old Edward George has followed in the footsteps of his successful entrepreneurial father, uncle and grandfather, by offering a unique service to UK businesses.

Video My Business is an online directory which allows video producers to list their services, and for businesses to search for a high quality video producer. The idea arose when Edward’s father, who has appeared on BBCs Dragons Den and heads up two successful business, struggled to find a video producer. Edward’s passion for photography combined with his entrepreneurial DNA, sparked an idea and he set about creating a business to fill the gap in this market.

As a start-up with no business experience, Edward was unsure where to begin. “I approached The Growth Hub and pitched my idea to them. From there I was assigned a mentor and was offered a wealth of help and advice which was instrumental in taking my initial idea and turning it into a money making business.”

Based at The University of Gloucestershire, the aim of The Growth Hub is to offer support to start-ups and existing businesses to transform their business and create a culture of enterprise in Gloucestershire. Basil Omar, Enterprise and Incubation Manager at The Growth Hub, said: Since launching in August 2014, Edward has created a successful business which is set to go from strength to strength. It’s been exciting for us to help develop Video My Business and give Edward the skills, business support and guidance to take his idea and turn it into a viable business.”

Edward adds: “Although I was certain my idea would work, I was lacking the business skills to make it happen. Managing cash flow, marketing, time management, structural planning and customer relationships were all things The Growth Hub helped me with.” Edward now aims to widen his offering and connect video producers with businesses in Europe and The United States America.
