Detectives from Greater Manchester Police have raised thousands for the fund set up after the Arena concert attack.

Over 450 people attended the GM Bee Glitz and Glamour Ball at The Point, Emirates Lancashire County Cricket Club to raise money for We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

The event was organised by five detectives from the Greater Manchester Police: Samantha Gaunt, Andrew Bailey, Jared Sudworth, Adam Frank and Michael Berger, many of whom attended Manchester Arena after the attack at the Ariana Grande concert in May 2017.

The black tie evening was hosted by Countdown’s Rachel Riley and included entertainment from Dave Spikey, Russell Watson, Yvette Royle, Clint Boon and Parrs Wood High School Choir, who sang with Ariana Grande at the We Love Manchester Concert. Fundraising on the night included instant win raffle prizes, silent and live auctions, and the estimated target of money raised was around £70,000.

Michael Berger said: ‘This was an amazing team effort. We couldn’t have done it without the help of our sponsors and the entertainment was second to none. We were committed from the outset to raise as much money for the We Love Manchester Fund and show that those affected are never forgotten.’
