More than 100 supporters attended a gala dinner to raise funds and awareness for Guide Dogs for the Blind Association at Nutters Restaurant, Rochdale.

The event was devised by Kathryn Barber, a volunteer fundraiser. and organised by all the members of the Oldham Guide Dog volunteer branch. Guide Dogs for the Blind receives no government funding so events such as these are crucial in providing mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people. Kathryn thanked supporters and said: ‘I am so happy and thrilled at its success and hope this will be the first of many.’ They raised £2203.
