The new captain of Hillside Golf Club was chosen at an event held at Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa.

This year’s captain, David Rooney from Birkdale, was voted in by previous captains before being taken to the Floral Hall in Southport for a champagne reception and three course dinner.

Guests were then entertained by two members of the Kings of Swing, Paul Doby and Tony Benedict.
