The Holcome Hunt hosted a black tie ball at Houghton Tower to celebrate 400 years since James I visited the historic house to knight the sirloin.
The former king also went on a hunting trip with the Holcome Hunt, enjoying it so much that he granted them a royal warrant to hunt over 12 townships and the privilege of wearing gold and scarlet livery.
At the celebrations, 100 guests enjoyed a three course meal and entertainment from Brothers of Swing. There was also a re-enactment of the knighting of the sirloin by a member of the hunt.
