ITV’s Lucy Meacock and the Lord Mayor of Chester, Councillor Hugo Deynem, were among 600 guests who attended the diamond celebration of Kelsborrow Choir with Roberts Bakery Band at Chester Cathedral.

The event also raised a substantial amount for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford, who recently launched a £2.2 million ‘From Silver to Gold’ appeal. The plan is to double the size of the existing hospice, increasing the reach of day therapy from 1,000 a year to 1,700.

Steve Hoy, CEO of the Hospice, thanked the audience for the support, kindness and love they had shown: ‘The Hospice has provided end of life care and support to over 25,000 people since it first opened in 1989. Kindness, love and humour are key ingredients to getting through difficult times together.’
