Leading lights of the region’s restaurant scene came together at Alderley Edge Hotel to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.

A trio of gastronomic talent joined forces at Alderley Edge Hotel to create a six-course showcase menu in support of the charity, Hospitality Action.

The hotel's executive head chef, Colin Starkey, was joined by Michelin-star winning Mark Poynton and crowd-funding sensation Gary Usher, whose most recent venture Kala has opened in Manchester to great acclaim - with each chef creating two courses for the exclusive, invite-only crowd to enjoy.

Following a Tattinger Champagne reception amongst the eccentric, elegant surroundings of the hotel's dining room, the gourmet highlights included Gary's asparagus with hazelnut cream and lardo, Colin's scallop with cauliflower and saffron lemon emulsion and Mark's whole roasted duck served in a cherry and coco nib sauce.

Diners also appreciated the bespoke, course-by-course wine offerings introduced by expert Frances Bentley from the JW Lees wine team.

With satisfied stomachs and wine-loosened wallets the after-dinner raffle raised more than £1100 for Hospitality Action, which supports those who've worked in the industry, through difficult times. Cheers to that.
