The event raised funds for Keswick School

The four-star Inn on the Lake hotel in Glenridding once again played host to their glitzy Royal Ascot Ladies’ Race Day in aid of their charity of the year, Keswick School. This is the fifth year they have staged this popular fundraising event.

More than 70 ladies from across the north of England attended the day, filling the hotel with fancy hats and glamorous dresses. After bubbly and canapés in the Orangery, guests made their way to the AA 2 Rosette Lake View restaurant for a live television transmission of the racing on giant screens provided by Fluid Productions. Local singer Glen Anderson entertained in between races, as a superb three course Royal Ascot lunch was enjoyed by all. The day raised more than £1,000 and next year’s event is already being planned.
