Pink Link, the organisation dedicated to connecting and promoting women in business, marked International Women’s Day with events in Lancashire and the Lake District.

The first was held at The Villa, Levens, near Kendal, where more than 50 female entrepreneurs gathered to network and enjoy a discussion panel involving women involved in Costco, and two local businesses, Felltarn and Grasmere Gingerbread. The guest speaker was Dr Cheryl Chapman. Pink Link’s second International Women’s Day event, sponsored by the Bowker Motor Group, was at Ribby Hall Village where more than 30 businesses exhibited their products and more than 140 women attended. After lunch, there were three speakers – former police hostage negotiator Jen Coulston-Herrman, county council chairwoman Anne Cheetham and businesswoman Codilia Gapare.
