Evesham-based Karndean Design flooring is marking 40 years as a market leader in luxury vinyl flooring, and celebrating with a philanthropic streak.
The British company is launching a year-long campaign looking at where it began and its position today as a globally recognised brand creating realistic wood and stone effect luxury vinyl flooring.
To begin the celebrations, it’s launching its ‘40 Free Floors for 40 Good Causes’ campaign on Facebook from October 2013. The international appeal is calling on the public to nominate individuals, families, businesses and other worthy causes that they think deserve to win a free Karndean floor.
There will be fifteen worthy winners chosen from the UK in total, with five handpicked by Karndean and ten selected from Facebook nominations. The first three floors will be donated to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Dogs Trust and Worcestershire based Pitmaston Primary School.
The forty good causes will also feature fifteen winners from the USA and ten from Australia and New Zealand.
Continuing the philanthropic streak and inspired by Smokey the dog, the Great Dane on Karndean’s logo, Karndean is showing its support for the Dogs Trust by donating £1 for every Facebook ‘like’ it receives, pledging to raise £5,000 by the end of the year (www.facebook.com/karndeandesignflooring).

Founded in 1973 by young entrepreneur Michael Walker, Karndean Designflooring now employs more than three hundred people globally.
The company is based at a five hundred square-metre showroom and headquarters on the Vale Business Park in Evesham, and is continuing to expand and invest in the development of designflooring products.
