Kelly Oliver is also an award winner - having gained a Help Musicians UK financial award to fund her debut album, which went on to gain 4* review from The Telegraph and an Album of the Year Award.

Kelly is a bright new jewel on the acoustic folk scene and if you listen to BBC Radio 2 or 6 you might have heard her songs. However, it’s early days for Kelly Oliver and she is not a household name. It’s a testament to the ethos of River Cottage that they have booked an emerging artist alongside BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winners for their popular music evenings.

Diners can expect an inspiring, entertaining, flawless performance from a relaxed singer songwriter who is clearly enjoying her vocation.

Kelly plays a range of mostly original material, with some familiar songs such as Bob Dylan or Steve Earle, and a dose of Celtic folk influenced tracks such as Caledonia or Mary and the Soldier.

You can enjoy a preview of Kelly’s performance on BBC Radio Devon on Weds 22nd July on Vic Morgan’s popular late night music show. She plays at River Cottage on 30 July.
