At Kirkham Grammar School, we believe in the values of a traditional education alongside a drive towards modern ambition.

It is our intention to build upon this 460 year history as a recognised centre of excellence for academic attainment and the holistic development of the learner. We believe everyone has a place in our community including our parents, pupils, staff, governors and alumni alike; we all have a part to play in the drive for continued excellence.

Kirkham Grammar School is an Independent co-educational Day and Boarding School for pupils aged 3-18. The school prides itself on its warm family atmosphere while academic success is at the heart of the school’s aims and it has recently enjoyed record-breaking GCSE and A-level results.

In its last ISI Inspection the school was described as “a friendly, supportive community, based on mutual regard, which provides a caring, inclusive environment, in which all pupils are helped to grow in self-confidence and self-esteem and develop their individual talents”.

This balance is achieved through the provision of a wide array of co-curricular activity to complement the pupils’ learning within the classroom. The school therefore provides a breadth of activity for all, encouraged and supported by a dedicated team of staff.

The Senior School has undergone a transformation over the last decade and boasts a host of magnificent new facilities. The teaching provision includes a completely new block of twelve interactive classrooms and a science block designed to meet the needs of the large number of pupils who pursue studies in this area.

Sporting facilities are outstanding with a new floodlit All Weather surface and Lawrence House Pavilion. Drama provision has been enhanced by the fine studio dedicated to Theatre Studies. Most recently the school has developed its Sixth Form Centre, titled “Six Degrees” affording our students cafeteria facilities alongside new ICT provision and a modern recreation area.

A new Music Centre was officially opened in January 2013 by International Soprano Lynne Dawson. A new Sports Hall, Fitness Facility and Changing Areas were also completed in January 2013.

Open evening on Thursday February 9th.
