The picturesque Inn at Whitewell in the Forest of Bowland was the setting for a charity dinner held by the Lancashire branch of the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust.

The evening, led by chairman Nick Mason of Davis and Bowring, saw guests enjoying a traditional game dinner before being entertained with a talk from Ian Coghill, chairman of the BASC Uplands Working Group who regaled guests with sporting tales.

The rural inn was the perfect setting for the charity dinner at which an auction conducted by Jason Fildes raised £9,000. The money will go towards the scientific work of the GWCT which is dedicated to conserving game and other wildlife for the benefit of future generations.
