Lancashire Life and the Belsfield Hotel at Bowness staged a black tie dinner at the newly refurbished luxury venue to mark the media partnership between the two organisations.

Around 70 guests were treated to a champagne reception and a three course dinner followed by a casino evening. The guests were also given a grand tour of the hotel, which re-opened in July of last year after a multi-million pound renovation by owners Corus Hotels in partnership with the iconic Laura Ashley furnishings company.

The Belsfield was built in 1845 as a residence for a European aristocrat, Baroness von Sternberg, before being bought by philanthropist Henry Schneider in 1869. The Swiss-born businessman was a man who enjoyed a lavish lifestyle, a philosophy that continues with the Belsfield to this day.
