It is the magazine’s third award in six years (three more than any other ‘county magazine’ in Lancashire) and it comes after a redesign and extensive reader research.

Hundreds of guests from media organisations across the north heard the judges praise Lancashire Life for the way ‘a strong strategy has seen it become editorial and photo led.’ This was a reference to work carried out to make the magazine more attractive to readers through a better use of pictures and design plus the introduction of an even stronger editorial emphasis. The magazine’s design team played a significant role in the transformation of the title, which is owned by publishers Archant.

Editor Roger Borrell said: ‘In many respects this has been the best of the three awards because everyone – designers, the advertising team, circulation and editorial - have worked to a clear strategy of improvements thanks to the research involving face-to-face sessions with our loyal readers and advertisers.’

The awards, staged by Prolific North, were held at The Point, part of Lancashire County Cricket Club complex at Old Trafford.
