A new Las Iguanas restaurant in Chester held a launch party to introduce locals to its unusual Latin American food and drinks.

Guests, including Lord Mayor Hugo Deynem and Lady Mayoress Deb Deynem, enjoyed a cocktail making masterclass at their table from senior bar staff.

The restaurant in the heart of Chester’s new dining district development forms part of that £8 million project. Coast to Coast and Chimichangas are also opening in the area.

Carolina Navarrete, General Manager, said: ‘The team is very excited to be in Chester and to bring Latin American inspired food and drinks to the city. We loved welcoming our guests to the VIP evening and hope everyone enjoyed a feel of what Las Iguanas has to offer. The restaurant is a reflection of Latin American life.’

Diners can expect traditional dishes from across the continent including Mexican fajitas, burritos and enchiladas, Brazilian XinXim curry and succulent burgers. All dishes are made to order, and the exciting variety of traditional-with-a-twist sauces and salsas are homemade every day. There are vegetarian and vegan menus available. The cocktail list includes their signature Caipirinhas, made with Las Iguanas’ very own Cachaça. Sourced and distilled near Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, this is said to tantalise taste-buds. w
