Record-breaking comedian Lee Evans will be visiting The Playhouse, Weston-super-Mare on 9 and 10 June for two very special performances

Work in Progress is the chance for the ‘Monkey-Boy’ of comedy to try out his brand new material before his forthcoming Arena Tour MONSTERS later this year. Audiences are asked to note that as he is trying out new material he will be referring to notes but this is a very special chance to see the legend and hear material that no one has heard before.

Lee Evans rose to fame in the 1990s with loud, hot, sweaty, energetic stage performances and physical observational comedy. In November 2005, Lee broke the world record for a solo act performing to the biggest comedy audience, performing to 10,108 people at the Manchester Arena.

Mark Thompson, General Manager of The Playhouse says “After what has already been a very successful run of comedy this spring with Jason Manford, Jon Richardson and Josh Widdicombe all playing at the theatre over the last few weeks and with Ed Byrne still to come this may we are delighted to further extend our comedy season with the legendary one and only Lee Evans taking to our stage for two special performances which will give Weston audiences the chance to hear brand new material from Lee before his national arena tour this year.”

Tickets are expected to sell fast for both 8pm performances and are priced £29.50. All tickets can be booked from the Playhouse box office on 01934 645544 or from theplayhouse.co.uk
