Unemployed young people in the North West have been given a helping hand, as The Prince’s Trust Polo Day raised more than £16,000 to help transform young lives.
Over 230 guests gathered at Chester Racecourse to watch a match and raise funds which will go directly towards helping young people into jobs. Guests were treated to Laurent-Perrier champagne, Sunday lunch, afternoon tea and a performance from Trust ambassador Lemar. The event was sponsored by fitness testers BodyCheckers, who also won the match against rival team Stella Artois.
This is the first time The Prince’s Trust has staged a polo day in the North West and following its success it is likely to become an annual event, with generous support from Chester Racecourse.
Thanks to funding from events like the Polo Day, The Prince’s Trust was able to support 5,400 young people in the North West last year, giving them the skills and confidence to find a job. Three in four young people on Prince’s Trust schemes move into work, education or training.
