More than 500 guests danced the night away at the annual Marina Dalglish Ball held at Knowsley Hall. Guests included Liverpool FC heroes Alan Hansen and Jamie Carragher.
A cheque of £1.25m was presented to The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust at the ball and will go towards an intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner. The incredible figure was a result of 18 months worth of fundraising, including over £300,000 being raised on the night.
Clinical Director of Neurosurgery, Paul May, received the presentation and said: ‘It is phenomenally generous of Marina and her family to have dedicated all their fundraising efforts over the last two years to supporting our hospital. Their support means that we can realise a much cherished dream of providing an amazing new scanning facility.’
