Liverpool’s Hilton Hotel hosted its ninth Star Ball in aid of Alder Hey Hospital and the D. M. Thomas Foundation for young people.
The black tie ball was hosted by Peter Price and guests enjoyed champagne and canapés on arrival. Ukebox, a five piece ukulele band started the party, which included a superb four course dinner. Celebrities included comedy legend Jimmy Tarbuck, boxer Paul Smith and Liverpool FC legends Jan Molby and John Aldridge.
The occasion raised over £45,000 for the charities. Auction prizes included a Boodles diamond pendant.
Hilton General Manager, Marcus Magee, said: ‘I would like to thank our team at the Hilton, our loyal sponsors, those who have donated prizes and bid for prizes, those who came along to support it and Barclays for their match funding.’
