Lots of Lots is a charity auction set up to help raise funds for the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, and will be taking place on February 28 in Tetbury. Find out how you can get involved...
Reggie, the face of the RSPCA South Cotswold’s campaign to build the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, took time out of his busy schedule this week to visit the campaign office to inspect some of the items which have been donated to the Charity’s “Lots of Lots” auction which is happening on February 28 at the Charity Furniture Emporium in Tetbury.
The event which is the brainchild of Nick Bowkett of Stroud Auctions is hoping to raise enough funds to build three dog kennels and six cat spaces at the new centre. Nick says: “Like a lot of people locally I am an animal lover so when I heard about the need for the new home, I naturally wanted to help in any way that I could. I came up with “Lots of Lots” and the rest of the Stroud Auctions team got right behind it, even the chap who normally looks after the online bidding who doesn’t work for us.”
So what is Lots of Lots? The aim is to be able to auction smaller, good quality lots like china, memorabilia and jewellery or anything that will raise at least £25 per item. It’s really easy to take part in Lots of Lots”. All you have to do is have a rummage through your drawers, sort through your jewellery box, start your spring cleaning a little early or even have a “Lots of Lots” party with friends, family and neighbours and put everything in a spare box to pass on to us. You never know you might even find a Rembrandt or lost Shakespeare play in your loft! All items can be brought to the Charity Furniture Emporium at Tetbury or one of the four RSPCA South Cotswolds shops in Stroud, Nailsworth, Wotton or Cirencester and everything will be valued by a professional auctioneer.
Carolyn Blackburn, Chair of Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, urged everyone to take part. She said: “It’s so good of everyone at Stroud Auctions to help us in this way and we want to make sure that we have a fantastic auction day. So please help us to move even closer to opening the centre which will be a safe haven for thousands of local animals in need by having a good sort out and donating your goods.”
