Eden Project in Cornwall brings back its 660m Skywire and 65ft drop Gravity rides for thrillseekers

The Eden Project’s SkyWire, England’s longest zip wire, will re-open for the school holiday on Saturday February 14th with a special Valentine’s theme.

For the first time ever in the attraction’s history, doting lovers and fond friends are invited to take to the skies hand in hand, to experience the 660-metre long thrill ride together, at the same time.

Mike Olivant, Manager of Hangloose Adventure, the company behind SkyWire and other daredevil attractions on the site, said: “We’re always looking for new and exciting experiences to offer our visitors. Simultaneous flight is something we’ve never done before, so Valentines is a great opportunity. Our visitors will love being able to share this amazing experience with a loved one”

Gravity: The Giant Swing will also be returning to the site, allowing thrill seekers to experience both weightlessness and multiple G-force in a dramatic 65ft drop.

Both SkyWire and Gravity will open from 10am until 5pm from February 14-22, then weekends only throughout March. The opportunity to fly simultaneously with a loved one is available on February 14th and 15th only.

A single SkyWire ticket costs £15 or a combination ticket which includes both activities is available for £22, Couples tickets (14th &15th Feb only) are priced at SkyWire £25/ combination £39. Gravity alone costs £10 pp. Pre-booking not available.

As another Valentine’s Day treat, a romantic dining experience is available in the Eden Project Rainforest Biome.

Diners can arrive at Eden from 7pm onwards and will be taken down to the Rainforest Biome and given a welcoming glass of Eden sparkling brut. Then there will be chance to take a romantic walk among the treetops on the Rainforest Canopy Walkway and marvel at spectacular views across the Biome.

After the walk, diners will be guided to the authentic Malaysian hut, to enjoy an enchanting pre-dinner performance a story of love and devotion told by our master storyteller.

Then they can take a seat in the Spice area of the Biome, where they will be served a locally-sourced three-course menu. Diners will also receive a gift as a small token of Eden to take away.

The Valentine’s Day dining experience is an exclusive event and there is limited availability. Tickets cost £45 per person and include a free entry pass to Eden on Saturday 14 or Sunday 15 February 2015. To book tickets please check out the website.
