Singing star Lulu entertained almost 300 supporters of The Prince’s Trust who gathered at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa in Clayton-le-Moors for the 3rd Butterfly Ball.

The Butterfly Ball is an independent group of local volunteers who organise events to raise money exclusively for the trust. Every penny goes to pay for a range of programmes across Lancashire, helping 1,400 young people each year to secure a brighter future.

The guests included the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, Lord Shuttleworth, and Lady Shuttleworth, Dancing on Ice champion Dan Whiston, Coronation Street’s Hayley Tammadon, classical singing brothers and Britain’s Got Talent finalists, Richard and Adam Johnson, and last year’s runner-up, singer Lucy Kay.

Following a champagne reception hosted by accountants, Moore & Smalley, toastmaster David McBain announced dinner to the accompaniment of a military fanfare. The main sponsors were Talk Talk Business and Max Comms Limited.

Auctioneer and comedian Russ Williams, aided by Lulu, then raised some serious money for the trust before Master of Ceremonies Paul Guard rounded off the evening with his band and singers.
