Staff of The Hammond performing arts school in Chester enjoyed a glamorous evening at Booth’s Mansion in the city centre to mark the retirement of their Principal, Maggie Evans, after 10 years in the role.

Under her leadership, the school has developed significantly with the addition of new facilities, a Prep School and a BA course in Musical Theatre Performance, in association with The University of Chester. Staff enjoyed a superb meal.

Ms Evans said: ‘I was fortunate to be in post for the school’s centenary in 2017, a time to reflect on achievement, but also to look forward. It has been enormously rewarding to work with such talented staff who strive to deliver the ambition of our gifted students. These two groups make The Hammond a special and vibrant place.
