A glamorous charity evening was held at The Riverside, Rochdale. Almost 100 guests put on their sparkly masks and dressed with a hint of orange for the Mandarin Masquerade Ball to fundraise for the Multiple System Atrophy Trust. Guests included the Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Peter Rush and wife, Monica, and the Mayor of Whitworth, Karen Ruane and husband Peter. After a champagne reception they enjoyed evening of fine dining and live entertainment. The event was inspired by MSA sufferer Eric Armitage, and organised by his sister, Bev Wrigley and her husband, Mike.
Bev said: ‘We had some fantastic support from in and around Rochdale and Oldham. For me, this was about raising awareness about this little known, terrible disease and supporting my brother’s wish to raise funds so that others don’t suffer. I am really grateful to everyone who was involved.’
