There was more than a sense of relief to hear the chink of glasses and heart-felt cries of ‘cheers’ to celebrate the opening of the new distillery producing Masons Yorkshire Gin.

For owners Karl and Cathy Mason it was a chance to celebrate a new chapter in their business, launch a new, appropriately-named, Phoenix Edition gin – and thank the many people who had helped them out following the fire.

‘The most important things for us immediately after the fire were the safety of the staff and the continuation of our business.

‘We built this business on love and care, and that was incredibly important to us throughout sourcing our contingency plans.”

Karl co-founded Masons Yorkshire Gin in 2013 with his wife, Cathy. The brand produces more than 400,000 bottles of gin every year.
