There was a feast a fashion at one of the Ribble Valley’s top dining inns, raising funds for children and families in crisis.
The Three Fishes at Mitton welcomed dozens of guests when it played host to the ‘Flavours of Autumn’ fashion event run by Whalley-based independent ladies’ wear brand, Maureen Cookson. The event, which included a prosecco reception followed by fashion show, afternoon tea and silent auction, raised more than £1,000 for CANW (Child Action Northwest).
CANW will use the funds to support their ‘Raised in the Ribble Valley’ initiative, a service which provides free specialist therapeutic counselling for people who have experienced emotional trauma.
The fashion show is the first of three events The Three Fishes is presenting over the next few months as part of their support for CANW. Hilary Cookson, managing director of Maureen Cookson, said: ‘There was a fabulous gathering of local businesses supporting CANW at the first event in conjunction with The Three Fishes. The food looked lovely, and we were delighted with the reception from the ladies.’
