Max’s Superheroes Charity Dinner was a flying success, with over £25,500 raised on the evening for two charities.

The occasion, held at Crewe Hall, raised funds for the Children’s Oncology Unit at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, where seven year old Max Crompton has spent time during his treatment for a cancerous brain tumour. The other charity to benefit will be Brain Tumour Cancer Research.

Organised by Max’s mum, Sam Crompton, and neighbour Julie Bailey, the evening was attended by over 230 friends and family as well as Max himself, who was unable to attend last year’s inaugural ball. Max has now finished radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment, and is getting back to living the life of a normal nine year old.
