Become a Buckham Fair sponsor and you could meet Martin Clunes
Would you like to meet Martin Clunes, raise money for a Dorset charity and enjoy a fabulous day out at a traditional country fair? Well you can if you become a sponsor of Buckham Fair Dog and Pony Show.
The fundraising fair, which is to be held on 18 August, was established in 2008 by Doc Martin star Martin Clunes and his wife Philippa and to date has raised over £112,000 for local charities.
At the heart of the fair, which is held on the Clunes’ farm near Beaminster, is the ever-popular dog shows; the novelty classes such as Waggiest Tail and Best Trick are personally judged by Martin, who will also judge the Grand Final of the Rescue Dog of the Year. If you would like to enter Best Rescue Dog you’ll find a list of the local qualifying dog shows at buckhamfair.co.uk.
Alongside the dog shows and displays are the pony gymkhana and heavy horse village where Martin’s Clydesdales Ronnie and Bruce will make an appearance. Other entertainment includes a fun fair with dodgems, helter-skelter and carousel and a delicious local Food Court.

The Fair gets significant media coverage and has become the ‘local’ event of the summer and is the perfect community forum for community-spirited businesses to be involved in and to be seen at.”
