The 10th Michelle Jurd Trust Winter Ball was held at the Netherwood Hotel in Grange over Sands, which was attended by 140 guests.

The trust was founded in memory of Michelle Jurd, a former RAF navigator and mother of two young girls following her death in 2009.

The Trust raises money for military charities, and to promote adventurous training for young people; the event raised more than £25,000.

The ball was hosted by Colonel Neil Jurd, and guests included Mrs Claire Hensman the Lord Lieutenant of Cumbria, Charles Hadcock DL, Lancashire-based sculptor, Lieutenant General Richard Wardlaw, and Jordan Wylie, from Channel 4's Hunted Programme.

Guests had the opportunity to bid for an exciting range of prizes including a signed Anthony Joshua boxing glove and a bottle of SAS whisky.
