Waitrose, which is opening a new store in Wells on 25 July, has become the principal sponsor of this year’s Moat Boat Race.
The event at the Bishops Palace, on 26 August, has raised tens of thousands of pounds over the years for local good causes.
There will be lots of wacky races, entertainment and, weather permitting, a Spitfire and Hurricane from the RAF Memorial Flight plus a sunset balloon lift.
