Nearly £3,500 was raised for a charity for young adults with brain tumours and brain cancer at a recent event held at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Blackburn.

The evening, organised by Elisabeth Devey in memory of her best friend Natalie Wilson who passed away from a brain tumour, was attended by 100 people who all enjoyed a drinks reception with magician, followed by a three course meal.

Dancers from Preston Dance Academy and Brothers of Swing entertained the guests throughout dinner, before a charity auction, raffle and music from local band, Drive.

Elisabeth said: ‘My aim is to be able to help local families affected by this devastating illness. By organising the ball I have gone some way to achieving that, it was a very emotional but, equally, it was a wonderful evening.’
