Ex-pupils of Notre Dame Convent, Wigan, gathered once again at Wrightington Country Club for a reunion of the class of 1958.

Organised by Sue Duffy, Hilary Grady and Angela Valentine, the reunions occur every ten years, but this event was special because all attendees have now reached the age of 70. Guests enjoyed a drinks reception and dinner, during which people moved tables after each course to catch up with as many friends as possible. There was also a slide show of old photos by Sue Duffy, which brought back a lot of memories for guests, and a sing-a-long to the school song.

Angela Valentine said: ‘Because of our age, we propose to meet up again in five years time rather than ten, but on a more informal basis. To meet up is absolutely fabulous, and we have great camaraderie. We had a lot of fun talking about old times, and things we should and should not have done - once a Convent girl, always a Convent girl!’
