Ollie’s Army turned out in force at Davenport Golf Club, Poynton, to have fun and raise cash for a very worthy cause.

The ‘Mad Hatter’s Ball’ was organised to help a local family, the Carrolls. They have four children but two of them have been diagnosed with a rare incurable illness, Late-infantile Batten Disease. Supporters are in action to help four-year-old Ollie, and Amelia, two, live their lives to the full and to help fund research into Batten Disease.

One of the organisers, Nikki Ashwell, said: ‘We would like to thank everyone who supported our event, particularly Colin Manford the Patron, and there were many other companies and people who helped to make this event such a success.

‘The highlight of the evening was Monkey Harris performing “Oliver’s Army” to a delighted crowd.’

Over £7,000 was raised from the occasion.
