Oxford City Football Club kick started 2015 by opening a new indoor sports arena in Berinsfield, Oxford, says leading commercial property agents, VSL & Partners.

The Arena is for futsal, an indoor and five a-side version of football, widely recognised for growing much more skillful players, and now one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Oxford City FC was given planning consent in November to convert the existing warehouse into a state of the art indoor spoors arena. Already over 4000 kids have enjoyed a session in the arena since it opened. The Indoor Arena is the new home to Oxford City Lions one of the top four Futsal sides in Britain, and will also be the base for the new Oxford City Futsal Academy.

Mark Hinnells who has been steering the project to completion on behalf of Oxford City FC says: “The club urgently required a new local base for Oxford City Lions who had played their last few season games in Swindon, so finding a new home in Berinsfield has been a fantastic step forward. We would like to thank the people of Berinsfield who have been very helpful and supportive and look forward to a bright new year ahead in our new facility.”

Tom Barton of VSL said: “Acting on behalf of our clients Vogue, we agreed a 10-year lease for the 32,000 sq ft warehouse. The formation of this new sports arena will give this dynamic and exciting community great new opportunities and we’re really pleased to be part of that.”

The club plans further work to open up a second hall, with changing rooms, a café and a mezzanine viewing area for up to 400 spectators. It also plans to house Oxford City Hoops basketball club in the new facility once the second hall has been refurbished together with providing a local venue suitable for disability team sports.
