Local retailer Petersfield Photographic has been named Shop of The Year by Fujifilm. The photo store, which has been in the town for 24 years, picked up the award at the 2014 Fujifilm Digital Imaging Service National Conference.

Great British Life:

Owned by Gary Boxall Petersfield Photographic has been a member of the FDIS group of over 180 photo retail stores across the UK since October 2009. He recently upgraded his processing equipment to the very latest Fujifilm Dry Minilab and also has a 24” inkjet printer and four photo kiosks offering products such as digital prints, photobooks, canvases and mugs.

The new kiosks operate with the latest Fujifilm Imagine which means that not only can he offer a full digital print service in store but also online and now via smartphones and tablets with the new downloadable Fujifilm Imagine mobile app.

Gary has also invested a lot of time and money in re-fitting and merchandising his store to make it brighter and more welcoming all the better to show off the range of photo products and services he can provide. He and his shop manger Kate Collyer decided in April last year to participate in the Fujifilm Business Endeavour Awards scheme run by Fujifilm each year and as a result has won the top accolade of Shop Of The Year.

Gary says, “I still can’t quite believe it. We have always been known in the town for great service when it comes to all things photographic. To have won the FDIS award just proves it. It wouldn’t have happened without Kate and the rest of my fantastic hard working staff and the support of the Petersfield local community. Thank you”. Peter Wigington, marketing manager at Fujifilm says, “The FBEA is aimed at recognising the efforts that high street photo retailers make in promoting photo printing on the high street. There is stiff competition among the other FDIS members across the UK so for Gary and his staff to first win one of the four FBEA trophies and then be named FDIS Shop of The Year is a fantastic achievement and one they should all be proud of.”
