A charity event held at Duxbury Park Golf Club, Chorley, raised money for The Christie Hospital in Manchester.

It was hosted by Chris Feeney and his family, who started to raise money after his wife Phillipa died of breast cancer in 2015. The evening was attended by 80 people, who enjoyed a prosecco reception and casino table games.

An auction and raffle raised £6,700 on the night, taking the total raised so far to just over £26,000. The family also announced on the evening that the Phillipa Feeney Charitable Foundation Trust has been set up, which will gift money to those with cancer who are struggling financially because they can’t work due to the illness.
