Believe it or not, this beautiful Oyster shell and pearl have very humble origins, being discovered by a musician down on his luck, whilst shopping at his local fish market! Featuring as lot 981 in the upcoming sale with an estimate of £20-£30, it may not be the windfall he was hoping for, but nevertheless provides an amusing tale. The pearl itself weighs in at 1.04cts and is sold with an AnchorCert report (dated July 6 2015) certifying it to be natural and non-nacreous.

For more than 4,000 years, emeralds have been amongst the most precious stones in the world, and today there is still no sign of their popularity diminishing. It is estimated that Columbia mines and produces around 70-90% of the world’s emeralds for the global market. A selection of vibrant square and rectangle cut Colombian emeralds make up lots 870 – 875 in this auction, with estimates from £200-600.

This timed auction allows you to view the sale and place bids during the allotted time, but if you are outbid, you will be notified, giving you the opportunity to submit a higher bid.
