As the WI celebrates its centenary this year, it was agreed that an extra special party was in order.
The Prestwich and Whitefield WI hosted an evening of celebration at Whitefield Golf Club, themed upon renowned and inspiring women. The hosts were joined by members of Holcombe Brook and Summerseat and Cottonopolis branches of the WI, bringing together 90 guests. Attendees enjoyed a three course meal and birthday cake made by Prestwich and Whitefield’s own June Brown.
Maria Woodhouse, president of Prestwich and Whitefield, expressed thanks from all the guests to Sue Larmett and the organising committee for all their hard work which resulted in a wonderful evening.
