To celebrate Wimborne Food & Drink Festival, the Priest’s House Museum & Garden in Wimborne Minster will be giving visitors the opportunity to discover and taste some Roman recipes on Saturday 25 October, 10 to 4.30.
What did the Romans do for us? Visitors will be able to test their knowledge with our quiz, explore a Roman culinary display and taste some food based on Roman recipes.
The museum is located in the heart of the beautiful market town of Wimborne Minster. Discover our stunning Roman wall paintings, the fascinating childhood gallery and a unique Victorian Valentine card collection as the museum tells the story of East Dorset. Explore period rooms from a 17th century hall to the working Victorian kitchen, finding out how life and work has changed in this historic townhouse. Wander through a beautiful and peaceful walled garden. Our gift shop and tearoom complete any visit.
The museum’s Open Learning Centre (supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund) includes a multi-purpose learning and community space in addition to our tearoom where visitors can relax and enjoy a refreshing drink, including a choice of coffees, and a selection of delicious cakes, a cream tea and light savoury snacks.
